Weekdays: You can rent out the museum and collection for recording during the week. These sessions are £120 for 2 hours (plus £40 for each additional hour) or £350 for a full day (8 hours).

These prices include access to the complete museum collection and basic technical assistance. If your project requires an audio engineer, we can provide someone familiar with the museum collection for an additional charge.

Please contact us with any other questions: museum@thismuseumisnotobsolete.com

These sessions are intended for artists and musicians to record instruments and compositions with instruments they wouldn't normally have access to, to add to their songs or work on a project with the sounds. If the project is reliant on the image of the museum for branding and promotion for instance branded sample packs or production albums, please get in contact as this may require a conversation about terms.

On Weekend Sessions, You can continue to stay into the open day (1-4) you would only need to pay the admission charge (£6) and you can continue recording, provided the recording setup isn’t impacting other visitors. However if it is the test equipment room you are using, please get in touch, as it is a bit more complicated to run into museum open hours due to running costs.
